SLEEP AND DENTISTRY, is there a connection?

Updated: Nov 30, 2021

I talk a lot about sleep here on the blog and in my podcast. After years of not sleeping well as a news anchor with a 2:30AM alarm clock, I am one to tell you how important quality sleep is to your overall wellbeing. I justified my crazy schedule for years thinking I was doing the right thing for my family by being home earlier in the day but in the end, I was grumpy, sick more than the normal person and just plain tired.

I have have done so many interviews with sleep specialists over the years and we have talked about all kinds of reasons for sleep problems and many have nothing to do with the early alarm clock. Some people just CAN'T sleep and they don't know why. Others think they are sleeping well but they still feel tired during the day. Let me tell you, that is not normal. I now take a sleep supplement that helps me get deep sleep and I am a much happier, rested, healthier person today.

The bottom line is this, when we sleep, our bodies go into repair mode and that only happens during deep sleep. So let me ask you this, do you struggle with sleep? Have you looked for answers but you simply haven't found them? '

I interviewed a Dentist who takes a holistic approach to oral health and she opened my eyes to what could be a problem for many people and that is your MOUTH. Dr. Yuliya Rabinovich focuses on the connection between sleep and oral health. I hope this is helpful to you or someone you love. You can watch the full interview below.
