The Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking

Updated: Jan 2, 2022

This non-profit organization based in Denver, Colorado is supporting the people impacted by human trafficking while also helping other organizations serving survivors and working to eliminate trafficking.

LCHT was founded in 2009 and they are a leader in Colorado's anti-trafficking movement. Their programs have become critical to supporting the people impacted by human trafficking, as well as to the coordination of organizations serving survivors and working to eliminate trafficking. They focus their work on research to inform state-wide anti-trafficking efforts, training personnel in positions to detect and/or serve victims of trafficking, education to raise public awareness, oversight of Colorado's statewide human trafficking hotline, and development of future human rights leaders. Since 2005, they have provided anti-trafficking training to over 40,000 people, conducted three major research projects to drive action and inform policy, managed the statewide 24/7 human trafficking hotline/text line, grown the resource directory of agencies available to intervene in trafficking and serve victims to 325 agencies, and supported 174 interns.

Monetary donations are welcome. You can learn more about LCHT here

Anyone 18 or older and Colorado-based can apply to become a hotline volunteer advocate, answering calls and texts from survivors, service providers, and community members for Colorado's 24/7 Human Trafficking Hotline.
