Working Mom tears

Do you ever feel guilty when you miss an event in your child's life? I know that a feeling and I have struggled with it all of my parenting life (18 years now). It's hard to be everything to everyone! I schedule my vacation days around important events and special days at school but it's nearly impossible to be present for everything. What is most important is that our kids know how much we love them and when there are days like the one you see below, make sure your kids know that you love your work and even when you are not physically there on those special days, you love them just the same. I didn't expect the emotion that hit me this morning on TV but I know like all parents, we just want what is best and sometimes that means making sacrifices. Our kids will understand that one day and until then, let's be an example to them of strength and sensitivity.
